Anders was a dear friend and Affiliate Board member of ASTI for over 10 years. He traveled to Watsonville annually to attend and speak to the ASTI 32 Hour students. He was a favorite of the staff and all the ASTI instructors.
Anders was the Chief Industrial Refrigeration Engineer for Frigoscandia AB and President of Swedish-based refrigeration consultancy Ammonia Partnership AB, founding member of Eurammon, and Honorary Member of the International Institute of Ammonia Refrigeration. He worked long and hard both nationally and internationally to promote a better understanding of natural refrigerants.
He was a great supporter of ammonia and was nicknamed globally as “Mr. Ammonia”. Next to refrigeration technology, ammonia and golf, Anders was devoted to music and participated in many different choral groups.

He served as a City Hazmat Inspector for the City of Watsonville and was certified in Hazardous Materials Management from the University of California at Davis. Jim coordinated all the ASTI trainings, performed ASTI training classes, and established training agreements with ASTI clients. He provided feedback on how to recognize, prevent, and respond to emergency events involving ammonia.
Jim was dearly loved and appreciated for his tireless work with the ASTI team. The ASTI training clients quickly counted on him as an honest and highly experienced talent for emergency response protocol and management of the hazards, risks, and threats of ammonia. Jim's favorite reply to the question about 'how did it go?' for the latest training event was "winner, winner, chicken dinner!
